Distribution Operations Manager 

About the Role
The role is responsible for performing efficient distribution operations with focus on optimizing the service- and cost-position for transportation and secondary distribution (market-warehousing). 

The role manages the end-to-end distribution processes in the region (Argentina, Paraguay & Uruguay) and implements the distribution strategy in line with global distribution strategies and regional business logistics activities. 

What You Will Do

  • Safeguard efficient distribution operations and achieve agreed cost- and service targets

  • Follow up and perform analysis of distribution KPIs and costs and decide on actions for improvement

  • Execute Regional network/freight bids to select and contract transport- and warehouse providers

  • Manage service-providers (40-80 per region) according to the agreed targets on cost, service, innovation and sustainability)

  • Initiate corrective-actions with service providers as required including contract management, business reviews and continuous improvement activities

  • Perform analytics to simulate cost and service impact for network changes, new go-to-market approaches, new articles and short-term production moves in the region

  • Responsible for distribution costing in the region (Freight costing in SAP, Freight Audit of invoices, Freight settlement and accruals)

  • Drive regional implementation of global strategies for sourcing, planning, settlement and sustainability in distribution organization

  • Responsible for Trade Compliance/customs clearance operations where applicable in the region

  • Build and maintain relationship with strategic service-providers and collaborate with industry-bodies

Who You Are

  • University graduate in Industrial Engineering (preferably), Bachelor in Administration, Bachelor in International Trade, Logistics, Accounting, or similar.

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in similar positions in industrial companies with production plants.

  • Experience in multinational consumer goods companies.

  • Experience in finished product logistics from manufacturing sites and/or distribution centers.

  • Experience in transportation, supply, and foreign trade.

  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement processes, such as improving safety policies, enhancing workplace environment indicators, and implementing WMS.

  • Management of indicators such as service level (Fill Rate, On Time, OTIF) and costs (warehousing and logistics).

  • Experience in leading teams (managers, supervisors, operators).

  • Experience negotiating with Unions.

  • Willingness to work 100% on-site.

  • Lives in the Southern Zone or Capital of Buenos Aires city (work is in Esteban Echeverría).

  • Fluent English
